THE INKWELL AWARDS are an all new, exciting award set up to celebrate the art of inking within the comic book industry. The Inkwell awards are being established and overseen by a number of professionals from all aspects of the comic book industry, including such artists as Adam Hughes ( Tomb Raider, Justice League, Wonder Woman and All Star Wonder Woman ), SeniorDC Editor Mike Marts ( Uncanny X-Men, X-men, Wolverine, All Star Wonder Woman and so much more ), founder Bob Almond (Black Panther, Annihilation: Conquest-Quasar, Warlock), Tim Townsend (Uncanny X-Men, The Amazing Spider-Man, Civil War ), James Tournas (Full Moon Craze, Shylock, Epoch ), along with Bill Nichols (Sketch magazine) and Daniel Best (Andru & Esposito: Partners For Life ).
Voting starts April 1st and ends May 30th. Results will be announced on this site with further info The first of July 2008.
There will be awards for favourite inker, embellisher and others, along with a hall of fame award named after industry legend Joe Sinnott. These awards will be voted up by both the public and industry peers with physical awards, which will be given out to the winners (or families where a posthumous award is given) and the results posted on the site.

The Inkwell awards will have a fully functional site, and advertising in the form of banners will be available. There are two tiers of advertising: a banner on the front page of the site and a general links page. There will be different costs for each tier. Banner size is 275 X 110 pixels.
The rates are as follows:
FRONT PAGE BANNER
30 Days - $25 (1 month)
90 Days - $60 (3 months)
180 Days - $100 (6 months)

While supplies last anyone purchasing a banner spot for 3 months will receive a signed copy of the A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET trade.
Any banner ad will have a general link at no extra cost on the links page. All banners will have unlimited views and will be non-rotating banners. The optimum size for the banners will be 234x60 pixels. Assistance with sizing the banners is available upon request.
GENERAL LINK
$10 per three months.
The time frame for these ads and links will begin on the 15th day of every calendar month. Payment is due by the first day of the month the Banner goes on.
It's expected that the site will generate a lot of hits, and the personnel involved will ensure that this award is taken seriously. This will not be a one-off, on-line award run by fans, this will be an ongoing, annual award run by industry professionals to celebrate the Art Of Inking. The award will generate interest and all the major contributors will be available to promote the award via various media outlets, web logs and web sites in the form of press releases and interviews. This media push will begin at the start of March, 2008 and continue into April.
