I have to say that I was extremely pleased with the results of the recent 2008 Inkwell Awards. Not only that I did well in the voting, but also that so many of my favorite talented artists were recognized so highly. I can't say enough about the committee and all the devoted fans who voted for us and finally gave the inkers the acknowledgement of our great contribution to the field of comics. I am truly honored and quite humbled to have an award (The Joe Sinnott Hall Of Fame Award) named after me. It is gratifying to see the list of inkers nominated for an award. It is so nice to see that the fans haven't forgotten these great talented inkers. Again, many thanks to the committee for initiating these awards, which are long overdue, and to the thousands of loyal fans for your support in voting for us. Continued success in the future. May your inkwell never run dry.

THE INKWELL is pleased to announce the appointment of Dave Simons to their ranks as a committee member.

Read the 2009 Inkwell Awards Roundtable interview. This year's particpants are: Bob Almond, Bob Shaw, Dave Simons, Jimmy Tournas and Daniel Best of the Inkwell Awards and guests Dan Panosian, Ernie Pelletier, and Mark McKenna. It might well be one of the best Inkwell related interviews that's out there at the moment.
5/27/09: 2009 INKWELL AWARDS ROUNDTABLE INTERVIEW
Everyone connected with the INKWELL AWARDS would like to express their deepest sadness and shock at the untimely passing of committee member and friend, Dave Simons. Dave was one of the most under-rated inkers of the past thirty years and his drive and vision was unparalleled. Dave's dedication to the craft of inking extended beyond merely working, he was a mentor and close friend to several artists, some of whom broke into the comic book industry as a direct result of Dave's efforts. Artists such as Mike Mignola and Gerry Acerno, to name but two, have always credited Dave for his assistance when it was needed the most.
Dave will be missed by all that knew him.
